RED KIMONO - A Restaurant Review

We stopped at the UP-Ayala Technohub on our way home from Clark, and decided to have lunch at Red Kimono there. We ordered Tuna sashimi and Salmon sashimi for starters, with the Kyuri kani salad. Tastes like regular old kani salad and sashimi. We also tried the Beef teppanyaki, which was kind of dry, like the Ebi tempura. The tempura was too doughy and heavy. The one really good thing about the meal was the Maki sampler we ordered. I especially liked the Salmon and cream cheese maki. Other than that, I think I've tasted better and equally affordable Japanese fare in places like Oki Oki. Service was fast though, and the staff was helpful and courteous all throughout, plus the restaurant interiors are clean and sleek with all that black and red. Aside from the Maki sampler, I wasn’t too impressed with the food. There are just way too many other Japanese restaurants out there with more to offer.
